One Size. Will it Fit You?
Our bangles are rigid, closed bracelets designed to slide over your hand and rest on your wrist. Because they are non-flexible and do not open, whether or not you are able to wear a bangle bracelet is determined by the widest part of your hand, not by your wrist alone.
How to Use This Guide
**NOTE: Butter Republic bangle sizes are fixed and inflexible; they must slide over your hand and onto your wrist--you are either able to wear our bangles, or you are not. There is no adjusting.
All Butter Republic bangles (Narrow, Medium, Wide) have the same inner diameters/wrist openings. The inner dimension (wrist opening) never changes and cannot be selected or adjusted.
Narrow, Medium, and Wide refer only to the design of the band itself--an aesthetic detail, not a size/fit measurement.
You are not choosing a size. You are simply determining whether or not our bangles will fit your hand and wrist. Different size options are not available
• Our bangles are rigid and non-adjustable.
• They must pass over your knuckles to be worn.
• A bangle may fit your wrist but not your hand.
• A proper fit may feel slightly snug when putting on.
• Once on, the bangle will sit looser on the wrist.
1. Hand Measurement
Tuck your thumb into your palm and wrap a measuring tape or string around your knuckles (include the thumb knuckle).
Pull snug (not tight) and record the measurement.
Tip: Measure your dominant hand. If close to the measurement of the bangle's inner diameter, expect a snug slide.
2. Wrist Measurement (Reference Only)
Measure just below your wrist bone to understand how the bangle will sit. This does not determine fit over your hand.
3. Bangle Dimensions
| Bangle Style | Inner Diameter* (wrist opening) |
External Diameter | Bangle Width |
|---|---|---|---|
| Narrow | 2.6 in / 6.6 cm | 3.5 cm / 9.0 cm | 0.5 in / 1.2 cm |
| Medium | 2.7 in / 6.8 cm | 3.0 in / 7.7 cm | 0.8 in / 2.0 cm |
| Wide | 2.7 in / 6.8 cm | 3.0 in / 7.7 cm | 1.5 in / 3.8 cm |
4. Fit & Tolerance
Each bangle is individually produced, and slight variations may occur during the manufacturing process.
We recommend allowing approximately 1/8 in (0.125 in) of natural variation.
5. Final Guidance
A well-fitting bangle should slide over your knuckles with slight resistance and rest comfortably on your wrist. Once on, it should move slightly but not fall off easily.
Too Tight
Difficult to slide over the hand
Too Loose
Slips off easily when the arm is down
Just Right
Glides smoothly over the hand and rests on the wrist
FAQS ABOUT FIT
Because rigid bangles must pass over your knuckles--the widest part of your hand. Going by wrist size alone can lead to a bangle that won't go on or is too loose.
Slight resistance when putting on a bangle is normal. Once on, a bit of movement at the wrist is expected and ideal for comfort and stacking.
